Our holiday by the North Sea is unfortunatelly over, but my humans decided they didn’t want to go home directly but spend a few days in Potsdam. It turned out to be quite fun.
We had one last breakfast in Büsum.
… and then went directly to Potsdam. We arrived there in the late afternoon, checked in our hotel and, while our humans went out for dinner, Red and I played games in the hotel room. Red said I cheated all the time, but this is not true 😉
Day 2- walk through Potsdam
On the next day we went on a walk about town.
Day 3 – Cecilienhof
On Sunday Mommy wanted to visit a park with many interesting buildings. It turned out to be a lot of fun.
There were lots of plants for Red …
… and some art for me.
The grotto was closed for renovation, but I had fun anyway.
A view of the lake.
Stop at the brewery.
Unfortunately many of the buildings were closed for renovation, so we will have to come back some other time when they are finished.
Bye Bye Potsdam.
So, dear diary – these were my holiday adventures this year. I’ll surely have new thing to write next year.
There was a wine festival in Büsum the whole weekend so my humans decided to go there. We watched a play of street theatre
Afterwards we went to the beach. Büsum has no sand but a grass beach – this was unusual. We chilled on the grass for some time and then tried out a beach chair.
We were quite surprised that there was no sea water. Mommy told us that it was low tide and then you can walk on the sea ground so we did that. The North Sea really seems to have a special kind of beach.
Day 9 – Hallig Hooge
Mommy was ready to get on board a ship again. She said that it was because on this route the ship stays near the coast so there are no high waves. We visited a Hallig – that is a kind of very flat island that is often flooded, so people can only live on the higher spots of the islands. Mommy said it would be interesting. I could wear my captain’s cap again so it was OK for me to do this trip.
Red was fascinated by the different plants she found on the island.
On the way back to Büsum we stopped in Husum. We were quite hungry and had a huge pizza.
We also walked about the harbour.
Day 10 – St Peter Ording
Finally a sandy beach. The weather was not very sunny in the morning, but got better in the afternoon. We spend a whole day on the beach. I could play in the sand.
We had a cold drink.
We walked through the dunes.
We ate ice cream.
I went swimming….
While Red bathed in the sun.
On the way home we stopped by the Eider Sperrwerk for a cool photo shoot.
Day 11- Büsum
During the morning we chilled because our humans wanted to do some shopping. But in the afternoon we visited a corn maze. It was exciting although it was quite hot and we only found half of the clues.
In the evening we ate fish and chips.
and went on a last walk around the harbour.
Day 12- Last day
As we had to pack our things we didn’t have much time to do other things. We only spend some time in the aquarium and a little museum about fishing.
So, it’s the time of the year again, when my humans go on holiday and, as always, I go with them. This time I chose Red to go with me because, from past time experience ,I know that Wondy doesn’t really like the seaside. Her hair gets greasy and her face spotty. I hoped Red would be more resistent.
Day 1 – Journey
On the first day we had a long journey by car. We made quite a few breaks and had food. Well, it was not the best kind of food to get along the motorway. Quite fatty and unhealthy. Exactly what I like, but Red didn’t enjoy it. I think mommy didn’t like it either.
Towards the end of the journey the traffic was quite bad so it was 6 o’clock in the evening until we finally arrived in the rented flat.
Day 2 – Chilling
Mommy didn’t feel very well today, so we stayed indoors. We chilled and recovered from the journey. Red decided to read a book while I played computer games. It was quite funny and relaxing.
Day 3 – Büsum
We went on a tour of Büsum today. It was quite funny – so many thing to see. There is a harbour with a small lighthouse and many ships.
At lunch our humans ate fish in a restaurant.
We preferred to eat our fish rolls outside as the weather was quite good.
Day 4 – Phänomania
Today we visited an interesting Museum – Phänomania.
It was full of experiments – we had a lot of fun.
Day 5 – Helgoland
We went to Helgoland by ship today. Well – Mommy was sick again. She should have known better after the experience she had in Ireland last year. But she wanted to go to Helgoland – so it’s her fault. Luckily the trip was shorter than the one to the Aran Islands last year. Helgoland was quite funny…
We went on a walk around the island. The coast is interesting.
And there are many seabirds.
At the end we relaxed in the harbour and enjoyed the colourful fishermen’s houses.
Luckily the sea was very quiet on the way back to Büsum, so we all got home well without further sea sickness incidents.
Day 6 – Friedrichskoog
We went to a seal station in Friedrichskoog today. There are many baby seals that were found without parents. As soon as they are big enough they will be released into the wilderness again. But there are also some permanent residents which cannot go back into the wild for different reasons. We saw how they were fed.
I was not allowed to ride on a seal’s back so I had fun in different other ways.
Day 7 – Writing my little black book
Today our humans went shopping in town. We decided to stay at home so that I could write my diary. Hope you enjoy it.
This year, like every year, it was FedCon time again. It was the first time I decided to take a doll with me. It was not easy to decide which one to chose. But then I decided to take the Samantha Cristoforetti astronaut doll – because I knew people from esa would be there, too.
We went a day earlier because Thursday was a bank holiday in Germany (Ascension), so we could check in and get all the things ready for the big weekend.
We went to Vapiano and had lunch. I think Samantha enjoyed it.
Then we went for a walk about Bonn…
… until it was time to check in…..
… bring our things into the room…
…. check out the surroundings….
… and end the day with a drink in the bar.
On Friday Samantha put on her space suit to show that she knows a lot about space and impress the people from esa.
We enjoyed different panels….
… and had lunch outside, in front of the hotel. There was quite a choice of street food.
On Saturday Samantha wanted to dress up. She decided to wear a Star Wars outfit because there were lots of photo points to take pictures and many other peopke were also dressed up.
Time passed very quickly. There were so many things to do and see, that we didn’t even manage everything. Then it was already Sunday … the last day. Samantha enjoyed the last panels …
We had a lot of fun on our short trip to Madrid last week. Odile and Coralie were very excited to go by plane, so they explored the airport and were amazed at the many planes they saw there. There was also a little bit of art to have fun with.
By early afternoon we reached our flat in the city centre. The girls had fun exploring it.
After relaxing a bit we went out to eat something.
And then walked around the city a little.
The next day after breakfast we had a tour of the city in a bus which started and ended at the Prado museum.
We had lunch and then … Churros con chocolate.
After that we went to El Corte Inglés – a huge department store with a nice view of the city from the top …
… and a big department of toys. The girls had a lot of fun – and I bought two new dolls 🙂
In the evening we attended a Flamenco tablao with tapas and Sangria – without the girls…
…who also had a lot of fun in our apartment.
On Thursday we walked through the streets and in the late morning visited the Reina Sofia Museum. We saw the Guernica painting and they also had a Flamenco department.
The girls had fun in the museum gardens.
For lunch we had burritos.
We walked over the Plaza Mayor …
… Puerta del Sol with the famous statue…
… to the Palacio Real.
The girls had ice-cream in the garden because it was so hot.
On the last day after breakfast we just walked a little about the city and visited different places like the Puerta de Toledo.
And then it was already time to go to the airport and fly back home.
We came back with lots of nice impressions and many souvenirs.
On Sunday the girls helped me make a tortilla de patatas.
I think the girls are looking forward to cooking more Spanisch meals.
First Bunny was very busy with all the preparations.
On Easter Sunday the Rainbow High dolls had a great Egg Hunt in the garden.
On Easter Monday Lucywenn and Vivian wanted to go for a walk. The weather was windy and cloudy so the walk was quite short. But, at least they visited the Easter decorations in the village centre.
And of course there was a new doll in the Easter basket – meet Mickey by Jakks Pacific. I finally found one of these dolls.
I realised that I have collected quite a few LOL surprise dolls. Here they are.
So, of course, I had to build a little space for them. I decided on a boutique – because they are fashionable girls and have quite a few outfits and accessories. There is also a little place to chill and put on make up.
Then there is a toy store – a place to keep all the mini toys.
And a little photo corner for the most fashionable LOL girls.
Her are a few views of the store diorama when full of dolls.
The big sisters usually take care of the toddlers. Sometimes even outside the usual space – this is a very hard job.
This year we celebrated New Year’s Eve quietly at home without much ado. My girls, on the contrary, dressed very elegantly and enjoyed big parties. Here are some of the outfits.
